Numbers

Marseilles, July 2021

The numbers were really bad, especially in this Mediterranean metropolis: the number of deaths, the number of contaminations, the number of hospitalizations, well above the defined alert thresholds. So the museum inevitably remained closed, exhibitions delayed or cancelled, as culture was not considered “essential” to the social fabric.
Under the summer sun, the epidemic is still there. But the numbers have become so reassuring that they benefit from a sleek design and large font on the door: maximum gauge for people, safe distance, time between cleanings, minimum age for wearing a mask. You can enter safely, the exhibition is triangulated, the risk is under control.
